My BIG BROTHER addiction...

It has been awhile since I've blogged! I have been sooo incredibly busy with the kids going back to school and getting into a new routine. Of course my FAV tv show of all time started and it seriously consumes me and my time! I keep the live feeds on all day while I work. When I go to bed, I watch Big Brother After Dark on Showtime. It's seriously a sickness, LOL!

Last night my favorite player was voted out of the house. He is the cutest, most charming man I've seen on the show. So sad to see Jeff go! Needless to say, my time will lighten up a lot more now. I am not so interested in the final 4 and don't really have the desire to watch so much anymore. I had to share his interview with Julie so you can see for yourself the charisma this guy has! Will miss you Mr. Yummypants!

Braydenisms

Yep, the kid is always saying funny things! I have now started keeping a journal
of just funny things he says!

While fireworks are popping and they are playing "I'm Proud to be an American", he sings most of the time. When all was done and quite we got to hear what he was signing so proudly, "I'm ABOUT to be an American!!!"....haa haaa!!!! LOVE IT!

Laying on a blanket outside waiting for fireworks a June bug is crawling around.
He proceeds to tell us that they are actually now "JULY bugs"...smart thinking
Bray!

Happy Birthday America!

We watched a beautiful fireworks show here last night! It was a gorgeous night!
I captured a few of my favs and thought I would share them with you!
I hope everyone has a wonderful SAFE 4th of July! Happy Birthday America!

And my personal favorite...LOVE the moon in the picture!

Seat Belt Cover Tutorial and Giveaway!!

One of my sweet Twitter friends, The Brassy Apple, has the best blog! She is doing these summer challenges and I just HAD to join in on this one! I've been wanting to make my kids some seat belt covers for some time. They are always complaining about the belts rubbing their necks. Heck, I even complain about it rubbing mine! I will be making myself one soon ;) So for this challenge, I decided to show you how I made mine. Please use this tutorial for personal use only. Thank you!

This tutorial will make 1 8X10 seat belt cover. This size is perfect for small children.

Supplies Needed...
2 8X10 fabric pieces
1 8X10 Fusible Fleece interfacing
Bias tape
Velcro
Thread, scissors, pins

STEP 1...
Cut 2 8X10 pieces of fabric and 1 8X10 piece of fleece interfacing.
Layer them, fabric right side up, fleece, fabric right side down. See
image A for example.

STEP 2...
Iron all pieces together to fuse the fleece interfacing to the fabric. See image B for example.

STEP 3...
I like to quilt all pieces together to keep them together. This will make the cover hold together well for use. You can stitch your lines or pattern however you want. I like to do straight lines either vertical or horizontal for my designs. See image C for example.

STEP 4...
Now it's time to add your bias tape trip. If you look closely at image D, you can see that bias tape is made where the bottom side is a little wider. This works great for when you stitch it in place. It always catches the underside of the tape. Works perfectly!

STEP 4 continued...
Go ahead and pin your bias tape in place. I like to do mitered corners when I use bias tape. To see examples of how to apply it, go HERE. I didn't do mitered corners on this cover. I just added it to both sides and then added it to top and bottom.

STEP 4 continued...
When you get to the ends, you will want to tuck under a 1/2" or so of the bias tape. This just keeps the end from unraveling. See image F for an example of how I do this. Now you need to go ahead and stitch the bias tape in place. Make sure you use the same color top thread and bobbin thread.

STEP 5...

It's time to add your velcro. You can cut these pieces as big as you like them. Mine were 2.5". Measure where you want it placed and stitch it around the edges. Make sure the velcro matches up when the cover is folded before you stitch it in place. See image H for an example.

That's it! You're all done! Please email me with any questions!! I hope this was easy to understand :)

I have 2...lol..

Driving by a very large house in our town he says "That is a BIG BIG BIG house!...He WINS!"... When I asked him why 'he wins', he says "The guy with the biggest house WINS". Hmmmm.... is this something that boys/men are born with? LOL!

"It is HOTTER than HOTTER out here!"
